Lower Solitude to West Monitor, Wills trees, Dutches Draw out Beartrap
Elevations, slope angles and aspects
7600'-10k+, angles over 35°, all aspects.
Snow conditions
Recent snow has settled to about six inches, ski penetration.
It has been wind and sun affected although some south facing aspects retained dry, settled powder.
Wind from the sse had deposited on lee aspects, loading may be reactive(shallow slabs from small cornice drops).
Weather
Mid temperatures, wind from the south, gusting over 20 mph.
Evaluation
Instability was from wind drifting.
Would expect some drifts may have overloaded buried weak layering.
